FAQ's

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I have hourly rates and flat rates that are contingent on the venue, the specific kind of event, services requested, equipment and the location. Prices vary from $35/hr - $500/hr plus add-ons.  Flat Rate events can range from $350 - $3500 depending on duration, event location, etc.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Communication is key. Through email, I like to get as much info as possible up front. Then I try to make arrangements to meet face-to-face and discuss the contract and any specific requests the customer may have.  If not, I am still an advocate for making a phone call and speaking directly with someone.  Customer service matters!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Years of hands-on work experience in music and tv/film, both in the studio and on stage, dating back to 1999.  As a DJ, I have trained with the 2-time Sprite World Champion, DJ Red, and I am a professionally released artist with streams in over 80 countries.  As a host and emcee, I am also a Certified Public Speaker (2020)

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started as a vocalist and a musician in this industry and transitioned into the world of the DJ, specializing in performance DJing, which includes the incorporation of live instrumentation.  As an actor, I first began with community theater as a youngster, following in the footsteps of my father, a founding member of the Harlem Renaissance Theatre Group with writer/director/actor Juney Smith (Good Morning Vietnam, Lethal Weapon 2).  More recently, I've moved into the world of television and film with a well-known regional talent and modeling agency, acting, producing, and even scoring music.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with people from almost every conceivable economic and social bracket. In the end, people are people and most of them are good.  This keeps me inspired to provide some form of levity and joy through entertainment in their respective lives.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Always make sure to address specific requests in advance.  Beyond that, part of the process is for me to have questions ready for you, the customer/consumer.  This helps to minimize any confusion or missing elements in the project/function.  This creates the open dialogue necessary to have all parties satisfied.
